Description: This layer is based on Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB) coordinate data. The locations of Public Land Survey System (PLSS) corners, as represented in geographic coordinate pairs, were derived from a variety of source documents, which include U.S. General Land Office and BLM survey plats/notes, as well as survey data obtained from other U.S. Government agencies, private sector survey firms, and local governments. The attributes assigned to PLSS polygons were taken from the BLM's Legal Land Description (LLD) data set, contained within the Legacy Rehost for the year 2000 (LR2000) automated records system. The coordinate data was produced by using control stations of known location, with varying degrees of accuracy, from various sources which include but are not limited to; U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topological quadrangles and other sources, National Geodetic Survey (NGS) and US Coast & Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) Cooperative Base Network (CBN) control, Federal Base Network control (FBN), and Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS), and Global Positioning System (GPS) data, which is then analyzed and adjusted in concert with official survey data for any given geographic area. The Land Survey Information System Data Base (LSIS) data is a useful representation of the geometry and topology of parcels contained within the PLSS, but its application is intended for mapping purposes only. The GCDB data served from LSIS is not a substitute for a legal land survey.
Description: Established in 1982, Government Code Section 65570 mandates FMMP to report biennially on even numbered years, the conversion of farmland and grazing land, and to provide maps and data to local government and the public. The Important Farmland survey area is based on Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) modern soil surveys covering most non-governmental lands in California; 51 counties are fully or partially surveyed during the 2020 map update. Soil surveys specific to National Forests or other government land units are not surveyed. Beginning in 2002, SSURGO digital soil information was incorporated into the San Benito County Important Farmland data and the 2016 data began to incorporate the new NRCS Gridded Soil Survey (gSSURGO). Data subsequent to 2002 may have acreage and soil line differences due to incorporation of newer NRCS-SSURGO or gSSURGO editions.Prior to the availability of SSURGO or gSSURGO, soil information was hand-transferred from the paper soil surveys. Older versions of the data have not been modified. The land use minimum mapping unit of ten acres has not changed, but digital soil units of less than one acre occur in the gSSURGO-enhanced Important Farmland data. The data between 2002 and 2014 incorporates SSURGO and the interaction of land use and soil components resulted in units of less than ten acres for categories such as Other Land. The 2016 data incorporates gSSURGO and will no longer merge resulting polygons less than one acre for any map category for that and future updates. Description: This data set contains the Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zones and fault traces as shown on the Official Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zones Map of the Cherry Peak quadrangle. The dataset is comprised of polygons and lines that form regulatory zone boundaries (Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zones) and fault traces of areas where surface fault rupture previously has occurred, or where local topographic, geological, and geotechnical conditions indicate a potential for permanent ground displacements such that mitigation by avoidance as stated in Public Resources Code Section 2621.5 would be required.
